William Bright Morris 1844 - 1915

Summary

View along an open road towards the French village of Crecy. The road curves round to the right in the middle distance, with cottages on either side, and a large haystack to the left with a tiny figure of a farmer forking hay onto a trap. Smoke rises from a bonfire unseen behind the haystack. There is a dark wooded hillside in the background. The colours consist of green tones with a very bright, white sky creating a silhouette along the wooded hill.
