Summary

Dark brown suede with tan and plum suede trim. Cut-away sleeves and deep V neck. Curved bust panels. Short skirt is pointed in front. Fastened by black metal hook and bar at wiast, sewn on by wearer to supplement two long decorative thongs. Front bodice is decorated by two tan and plum diamond shapes. Bought by donor when aged 14, out of hard-earned pocket money, from C & A stores in Hanley, Staffs. these waistcoats enjoyed a brief period of popularity - some were all thonged below the waist. the purple colour and the suede material were particulary fashionable.
