Watering Horses

Wimperis, Edmund Morison (VPRI) 1835 - 1900

Summary

A windswept rural landscape with a river in the foreground, slightly obscured by thick reed beds on the left and right. In the middle ground to the left, two horses stand at the water's edge, one carrying a rider. Flat fields with distant trees make up the background, and a church spire with distant houses to the left. Three blowing trees in the centre punctuate the overcast sky.
