Field Flowers
Ethel Quixano Henriques 1868 - 1936
Summary
Still life of a bunch of wild flowers (or 'field flowers') and various grasses in a plain glass tumbler, with a few pale yellow petals scattered on the cream coloured table top beneath. The tumbler is casting a long shadow to the right of the picture, meaning that there is a strong light source being emitted from the left. There is much fine detail within the painting and there is a dark, plain background. Some highlighted drapery is visible to the right of the subject.
