Summary

Urn shaped vase with flat shoulder rising to circular platform and narrow neck, with small spreading foot and plain square plinth. Body decorated with two applied relief medallions suspended by simulated hooks and rings on each side of vase, one showing portrait of David Garrick, one showing theatrical attributes and inscription. Two floral festoons suspended from two high relief female masks at shoulder, hanging in deep loops beneath medallions on each side. Lower body below decorated with shallow engine-turned ribbing surmounted by narrow beaded band, shoulder above with inset acanthus border. Plain flat shoulder rising to narrow circular platform halfway up neck with moulded acanthus border below. Platform tapers to plain narrow neck, flared at top into thick ridge with short straight rim.
