Bramall Hall

Basil Bradley 1842 - 1904

Summary

Scenic view of five horse riders riding toward a large black half-timbered hall: this is Bramall Hall, in Bramhall, Stockport, Cheshire. A man carrying an object follows on foot. One of the riders - who are in a romanticised Victorian version of seventeenth-century attire - lifts his hat toward the hall. In the doorway of the hall a female and small child stand. The hall sits atop a hill sloping down to the right.
