Salford Cross

Salford Cross

G H Rowbotham

Summary

A vignette, in the style of a pen-and-ink sketch, of Salford Cross. The 'cross' is a fluted column on a base, surmounted by further pedestal, on the top of which is a crown. A small figure sits on the steps at the base of the structure, the cross seeming tall in comparison. In the background are rough outlines of medieval-style timber-framed buildings. The print is possibly taken from the same book as 1909.641, a view of Salford Bridge.
