Summary

Full length portrait of a seated woman dressed in evening attire. There is a small round table to the right with a posey of rose heads on it and a carved wooden screen in the background. The woman is wearing a long net veil with embroidered stars and silver flowers and she has curly hair pinned up with a full curly fringe. She is wearing a dark velvet boned bodice extending to a point with off the shoulder sleeves. Her bodice is decorated with several silver buttons and trimmed with a row of dark lace. Her skirt is made up of pleated net with large embroidered doves and embroidered, beaded satin and layers of dark velvet. Her skirt has side paniers made up of velvet with metal thread tassel trim. She is holding an opened hand painted fan with a tassel trim and she is wearing 5 rows of pearls around her neck.
