Summary

Full length studio portrait of a girl. The girl is leaning against a high square top carved wooden table with a small basket of white flowers on it. There is a low wooden chair with a high back rest and velvet upholster to the right with an embroidered drape behind it. Plain interior wall behind and patterned carpet. The girl has long wavy hair worn half up and she is wearing a white knee length dress with a long bodice extending over the hips. Her bodice fastens centre front to a round neck with a white frill collar and a brooch and she wears locket round her neck. She has full length fitted sleeves with a button at the cuff and her skirt is flounced with a frill trim at the hem. Worn with white stockings and slip on satin ankle boots with fabric inserts. Written on the reverse in ink "Gertie Warland"
