Summary

The woman rests her right arm on the desk and is seated on an elaborately decorated wooden chair. She is seated with her left leg crossed over her right. The woman's hair is arranged in a centre parting and pulled back from her face into a chignon. She has a dark coloured bonnet with decorative trim which fastens under her chin in a bow. She is wearing a mid-coloured silk cape over a matching dress with a cord belt ending in a cluster of beads. The woman is wearing mid-coloured leather gloves.
