Summary

Woodland scene depicting three young peasant girls sheltering from the rain beneath a large old tree. In the centre, the foremost girl stands with two buckets of water at her feet, her hands raised to her long hair. Behind, the other two girls lean against the wide tree trunk, sheltering from the rain. In the background to the right, a hooded shepherd leads his sheep amongst the trees.
