Frockcoat: black serge, lined black twilled silk;sleeves, white silk; turn down collar, slit to form pointed lapels, lapels faced with silk with button hole edge showing beyond edge of facing; double breasted, fastening with three thread buttons, buttons in narrow section each side of front; seamed at waist; back in four shaped sections, seamed at waist; skirt slit at back, overlapping with narrow pleat each side, headed by button; sleeve fastening at cuff with two buttons; one breast pocket each side with one small pocket below on left; woven label on loop at neck "Boydell Brothers Manchester" Waistcoat: back of black twilled silk, lining of striped blue black and white silk.Low neck, front fastening with six buttons, cut away slightly at base; slightly v-shaped waistline; two pockets each side; belt at back waist with buckle fastening. Trousers: lined at waist with striped blue, black and white silk; at back, v-shaped slit at top of waist seam with button each side; buckled belt beneath; concealed front fastening with six buttons; two buttons each side of front; pocket, heavy twilled cotton in each side seam; buttons stamped "Boydell Brothers, Manchester"
