St. Augustine's Chapel

Zanetti & Agnew

Summary

St. Augustine's Chapel, Manchester, seen from the front. The chapel's facade is plain but with gothic flourishes, including arched windows and decorative finials. A passing couple pause before it on the pavement, the man gesturing towards the central chapel door. A deep shadow is thrown onto the left-side door of the chapel from the adjoining Georgian residential building. To the right, in the distance, domestic chimneys are towered over by a tall mill chimney. The shadows are largely aquatint, but a hand-colouring has been applied to the print, largely in shades of blue and warm brown.
