Summary

Public: Panel of two square earthenware tiles, probably dust-pressed, with design, transfer-printed and painted in overglaze enamels, of a sunflower supported by two putti. Private: Two square earthenware tiles, probably dust-pressed, forming the top and bottom ends of a five-tile vertical panel design but matching each other to form a two-tile panel. The design has been transfer-printed, painted overglaze in brick red and pink enamels and gilded in places. The design consists of a sunflower with a female head in the centre of the flower, and two putti at its base either supporting or beginning to climb the flower. Around the design is a border of square panels containing a variety of round flower heads, alternating with rectangular panels containing straight plant stems each with six leaves and six buds. Pattern : 2173A & 2173E
