Manchester Art Gallery commissioned students from King David Sixth Form, Loreto College, Manchester College, and Xaverian College to develop responses to the 14–18 Now exhibition, Fashion & Freedom. They were inspired by experiences from the First World War, exploring what was happening to women and making connections through the themes of restriction and release.
The commission involved students making outcomes that would become part of their portfolio, with some being showcased at this fashion show takeover of the gallery:
