Summary

Garden scene. On the left Cupid leans forward to look at Psyche, who is asleep reclining on a red cushion, her arm resting on a low wall. Cupid is dressed in blue drapery, with red drapery flowing around his head. He has blue/green wings and carries a bow and arrow in his right hand. Psyche wears a salmon pink dress with a blue band around her waist. In the foreground there is a square pond, with the head of a fantasical creature as a water spout, set on a stone pillar. A rose bush grows in the background. The frame is decorated with flowers and leaves in repeating patterns along the top and sides. The bottom edge is decorated with individual flower motifs.
