Venice - The Piazzetta

William Miller 1796 - 1882

Summary

This is a view across a canal side plaza. A gothic building dominates the left midground, with an arched colonnade at the base. Two columns stand to the right at the canal side, each topped with classical statuary. There is an expanse of water to the right, with masted boats moored along the canal side. A domed building can be seen across the water at the centre right background. People in small groups are stood about in the plaza. There are steps to the bottom right corner.
