Summary
On right, in foreground, is a rooftop and chimney, behind which a footbridge crosses a railway line towards a post on left. The post is surmounted with a wheel over which a weight is suspended. Trucks move up and down the track from a slag heap on the left. Smoke rises from the chimneys behind the slag heap, where the pit-head winding gear is also visible.
