Summary
Heavily potted circular bowl with curved base, on tall straight footring. Decorated with rouge flambe glaze, soft red-pink on interior with yellow splashes and speckles from sprinkled metallic oxides, mottled milky blue and purple chun type glaze on exterior, with patches of red showing in places. Upper body of peacock painted on bowl interior beneath rim in silver and copper lustres showing blue and black against red ground, its wings outspread along bowl rim, its neck and head reaching down into well of bowl, surrounded by small silver lustre bubbles. Opposite side at rim painted with five large scrolling swirls of mottled blue representing peacock tail feathers, with small circular patches of red partially filled with black copper lustre, and narrow silver lustre tendrils.
