Summary
Hat in black velvet with a tall rounded crown and a top stitched brim, shallow to the back, deep to the front. Lined with black acetate with a black Petersham band. Worn by the donor to her father's funeral. Mann designed the hats for Diana Rigg when she played Emma Peel in the Avengers in the 1960s (John Bates designed her outfits), and there is a stylish Mann hat in the Museum of Bath which won Dress of the Year, 1967 with a trouser suit by David Bond.
