Summary
Eggshell blue corded silk. Two piece court costume. Lined with eggshell blue silk. Pleated giving draped effect. Low V shaped neck filled in. Centre front covered with floral embroidery in pink, orange and mauve metallic braid, green stemstitch, pink and yellow sequins and glass beads, clear glass bugles and silver thread. Band of cream embroidered net insertion between chiffon at neck with drawstring. Fastening at centre back. Centre front covered with very large rosette of dress fabric with metal buckle set with beads. Short sleeves lined with cream chiffon. Separate skirt fastening centre back. Trimmed with ribbon, sequins and beads. Hem extends in train at back. Separate underskirt fastening centre back with drawstring. Trimmed with scalloped pleated frill of pale blue silk chiffon and appliqued cutout floral embroidery in cream and gold on muslin. Separate train of white lace and ribbon embroidery. Trimmed with lace, ribbon and beads in floral bouquets. Waistband woven : "By Appointment to the Queen JAY'S LIMITED Regent St London W" Label attached : "Lady Pearson".
