Summary

Public: Hexagonal teapot with leaf-moulded spout and handle, cream coloured earthenware, relief-moulded on each side with Chinese figures against a Greek key ground, decorated with green, yellow and purple coloured lead glaze. Private: Hexagonal teapot, with flattened shoulder rising to short straight hexagonal neck, leaf-moulded spout and leaf-moulded handle with two spurs along length and outward spur at lower terminal. Cream coloured body relief-moulded with Chinese figures against recessed panels of simple Greek key ground. Panels comprise, from left of handle; elderly man seated on the ground beneath a tree, two birds in branches overhead; tall woman with dancing child; tall woman with child to right standing beside large vase. Panels repeated to right of spout. Borders of ogee arches to shoulder, separated by palm fronds at corners. Predominantly green coloured lead-glaze with yellow to panel borders and neck, and manganese purple touches to figures. Shallow domed hexagonal cover with flattened rim, flowerhead finial and small pierced hole to one side. Green coloured lead glaze with yellow to rim and flower finial.
