Market on the Nile
Joseph Farquharson 1846 - 1935
Summary
A view of a market on the banks of the River Nile, Egypt. Crowds of people are seated in small groups on the sandy ground with their goods spread out around them. There are some seated camels in the foreground, laden with packages. Small huts and the masts of boats are visible on the river in the background. Tall palms and a flat horizon can be seen in the distance, against the lazy pale blue sky.
