Summary

Peasants resting by a wayside shelter, a large kettle hangs from a tree. A traveller sits on a bench waiting whilst his palanquin bearers take a rest. A woman stirs the fire. To the right there is a notice-board with a bird perched upon it. Rice fields in the background.
