Summary
five individual width lengths of dress silk brocade. Ivory silk woven with large scale, stylised trailing leaves and flowers in blue, pink, yellow and gold. Hand woven in Spitalfields, London; the reverse showing the loose warp threads. Stitch marks show that the lengths were formerly made up into a dress. See 1997.319 for a smaller piece from the same origin.
