blouse

Jeff Banks 17 Mar 1943

Summary

Blouse in black silk crepe, printed with a tiny white leaf motif; turn-down collar; single breasted, fastening with 6 small buttons; long sleeves gathered into small buttoning cuffs; small woven label, silver on black, 'Jeff Banks'. The donor bought this in the late 1960s and liked the fabric as it resembled timeless Indian woven designs. Jeff Banks set up on his own in 1963 in a shop called 'Clobber', and traded until 1974 when a fire destroyed his whole stock.
