Painting depicting a three quarter right hand profile perspective portrait of Roman orator Marcus Tullius Cicero, surrounded by wreath of leaves. To the right of the portrait a scene of a beheading is depicted, with a Roman soldier raising his sword before the prisoner with bent head. To left of portrait a group of soldiers is depicted, with the foremost soldier gesturing towards the execution group. The painting is depicted in grey, with pronounced detailing on the central character in terms of tone and shading.
