Summary

Public: Lozenge shaped teapot with S-shaped spout in the form of an outstretched arm and a plain loop handle. Sides slip-cast in relief with royal coat of arms. With a lozenge shaped cover with button finial. Private: Lozenge shaped teapot, with angled tapering base on moulded spreading foot, angled shoulder and short straight neck. S-shaped spout in the form of outstretched arm with two masks on either side at base, terminating in hand gripping open-mouthed head of a serpent, body of which is wrapped around lower arm. Plain loop handle with pinched spur at lower terminal and arrangement of two long and six short notches at thumb rest. Sides slip-cast in relief with royal coat of arms comprising medallion bearing a harp, supported by lion and unicorn and surmounted by crown, within recessed panel. Panel flanked with narrow border of quatrefoils to each side, the whole surrounded by Greek key border, repeated across shoulder and base. Lozenge shaped cover with quatrefoil and Greek key borders and button finial, small pierced hole to one side. Greenish tinge to glaze on cover.
