Summary

Mountainous landscape in the late afternoon sun, viewed across a still lake from a garden terrace. In the centre foreground are a peacock with two hens. A woman is seated to the right, reading and wearing a vermillian cloak, by her feet on the ground is a lute. To the extreme right of the scene is a colonnaded building and another woman stands to the right of the terrace balcony gazing out across the lake. Mountains stand to the left of the picture summounted by buildings of some kind.
