Summary
Green book cover with yellow and black decoration. Main picture shows a man in a top hat and green checked jacket looking at a mermaid beside him with sub title 'THE MERMAID OF MARGATE'. Corners decorated with black stylised leaf patterns set in yellow triangles. Between 1869 and 1875 Walter Crane worked as a children's book illustrator, particularly of fairy tales. Several books were published each year.
