Summary

A cottage interior, with a glimpse of outside through the open doorways of two adjacent rooms. In the foreground room, seated to the right of the central doorway, is the figure of a girl sewing, in profile, with her feet resting on a stool; the room is otherwise unfurnished; the adjacent room is similarly minimally furnished, except for a wooden chair placed to the left of the outside door and some plant pots on the sill of the latticed window.
