Summary
A girl in a dilapidated bonnet is seated to the right of a large basket filled with bunches of long pink radishes. She looks straight at the viewer. The shadowy scene is illuminated by a lantern, possibly a candle shaded with paper, on top of the basket. A small jug is on the ground in front of the radish basket, and a barrel occupies the gloom behind the girl.
