Three Male Figure Studies for 'Captive Andromache'

Lord Frederic Leighton 1830 - 1896

Summary

Preparatory studies for 'Captive Andromache'. Three studies of male figures. Two are on the left; the figure at the top is seen form behind and is nude from the waist up. the figure raises both arms to display muscular definition. The figure at the bottom is wearing a cloak and has a stick over his right shoulder and is looking to his right. The figure on the right is a larger scale to those on the left and appears to be a variation of the left hand bottom figure; A cloaked figure with a stick over the right shoulder turns his head to the left.
