Summary

Pale blue/ lilac moss crepe. "A Jennifer Model" Mid calf length dress with four matching pleats either side CF surmounted (just below waist level) by two rouleaux mock pockets. Three quarter length sleeves. Round neck with small CF opening and rouleaux decoration in floral motifs. Padded shoulders. 10" zip on left side placket. Jacket matching with full length sleeves, and rounded revers. opening Cf with two buttons and one press stud. Very waisted. Shoulder pads. Worn by Mary Stickland who was married at St Chads Church, Poulton le Fylde 26/6/48. Dress cost 8 gns at Blackpool and was worn with five red roses in the left collar. Worn with navy shoes, gloves and hat. Her wage as office clerk was £1.15.00 per week. Her husband's wage was £4 as a cabinet maker. Hat cost £2.10.00 and shoes £3.15.00.
