Cream, coffee and blue houndstooth check sports jacket. West of England tweed. Houndstooth check with larger tattersall check in bright blue single-breasted jacket with three plastic "horn" effect buttons to fasten; rather wide lapels, with left hand side buttonhole in lapel; fronts cut in one piece, with two vertical waist darts; hip pockets each side, with flaps; left hand side has breast pocket; right hand side has smaller flapped "watch" pocket above hip pocket; shoulders quite fully padded; jacket fronts curve away slightly at centre front edges; back is cut in four pieces, very slightly waisted; there are 8.5 in vents in side back seams; sleeves are cut in two pieces, and have single cuff button; body is lined coffee coloured artificial silk twill; sleeves lined white twill; pockets with coffee coloured cotton twill; right hand side front has inside breast pocket, on which is a printed label "Varsity" Utility label "CC41" under right hand sleeve in side seam, under CC41 is serial number "X227B". Purchased at a shop, now defunct, at Cross Street Manchester for approx. 8 gns. Bought for smart wear with gabardine trousers. Signs of heavy wear at neck, with buttonholes having been re-stitched. Bought at a shop in Cross Street, Manchester, for £8
