fashion drawing & sketchbook
Christian Dior, Paris 1947 - 1957
Summary
Six small sketchbooks containing rough pencil designs for outfits. The work of Christian Dior himself in the 1950s. Sketch books presented by Marc Bohan to the donor when she was his personal assistant at Dior from the 1970s to the 1990s. Typical of the work of Dior (see designs still in Dior Archives) and rough work in progress, in books inscribed in print 'Croquis Dessin'. Christian Dior's design department/studio reinterpreted these 'trend sketches' to produce worked-up detailed drawings.
