View of Manchester's free library, erected in 1851. It is a large, symmetrical neoclassical stone building in the centre of the image. One side and the front can be seen. The entrance is on the right, in the centre of the front of the building. On the far right can be seen a tall, square tower, rising above some other buildings. People can be seen walking. On the left is a man and woman on a horse drawn carriage.
