Back Water Street, Manchester.
Arthur Sherwood Edwards 1887 - 1960
Summary
A derelict building surrounded by rubble. In the centre is an old style telephone box. Manchester was particularly badly bombed by the Luftwaffe in late December 1940, and this image may be of the results of that 'Christmas blitz'. Edwards was an architect and sculptor who worked for Manchester City Council’s Architects Department.
