Summary

A view down a narrow, curving street. Past a half-timbered house on the left can be seen a much taller building, perhaps built in the nineteenth century, which towers over an old stone-built entrance. Passers-by of different types include a woman in a shawl, a man carrying advertising sandwich-boards and a schoolboy wearing shorts and a striped cap.The most prominent element is the black-and-white house, which has a ramshackle and uneven appearance. The print has a blurred quality, as if the impression has been made twice, with a slight glitch in the register.
