Summary

Evening tail coat of fine charcoal wool, with cutaway fronts; modelled on a man's tail coat with turn back collar and revers and turn back cuffs; single breasted fastening through 2 button holes with 2 self fabric dome buttons; alll eges bound in black silk braid; fully lined black silk taffets; large woven inner label, 'Digby Morton Couture, London, New York'. Belonged to Lady Jarratt. Digby Morton started work at Lachasse in 1928 and opened his own house in 1934. After the war, he established an international house with particular success in the States where he worked from 1953-7. He closed his couture house in 1958.
