Summary

Matching dress and jacket in raspberry pink wool; long sleeved assymetrically cut dress with wide revers, decorative button and horizontal vent trimming and left side placket and zip; collar of brown ribbed silk faille; narrow skirt lined raspberry pink silk crepe. Matching jacket, single breasted with 5 pink plastic buttons and a right side flapped pocket; off centre mock back fastening with 4 pink buttons; wide curving collar faced with soft brown ?bear fur; dress has turn back button cuffs; jacket plain sleeves; separate self belt; large woven inner label, 'Digby Morton Couture, London, New York'. Belonged to Lady Jarratt. Digby Morton started work at Lachasse in 1928 and opened his own house in 1934. After the war, he established an international house with particular success in the States where he worked from 1953-7. He closed his couture house in 1958.
