Green Pastures and Still Waters
Benjamin Williams Leader 1831 - 1923
Summary
An idyllic, landscape scene with a lake in the foreground, reflecting on its surface the cluster of trees that grow at its banks. Small birds fly just above the water, in harmony with the landscape. A male figure reclines on the bank of the lake and similarly appears harmonious with the landscape. Wide open fields extend in the background with scattered haystacks peppering the yellow field.
