Summary

Public: Moulded sauce-boat, soft paste porcelain, painted in underglaze cobalt blue with flowers inside moulded panels. Private: Slightly distorted thickly moulded sauce-boat, oval shape with wide long lip, thick flared footring and scrolling loop handle with upward curved thumb rest. Exterior sides and footring moulded with narrow vertical panels, interrupted on each side of boat by large oval moulded reserve with beaded detail. At front beneath lip, smaller reserve of same type, and at back where lower part of handle joins body, moulded circular panel with scalloped border. Side reserves filled with blue flowers painted underglaze, front with single insect, sprays of flowers scattered in between. Moulded ridge round top of boat, giving thick border along each side, tapering to nothing at each end. Painted with cell border of blue squares and dots, also briefly repeated inside rim of lip. Floral spray painted in well.
