Summary

Circular sugar bowl with straight sides, tapering to curved base and tall narrow footring, slightly everted, chamfered rim. Body printed in underglaze blue with Chinoiserie scene of zigzag fence surrounded by stylised flowers and tendrils. On other side, scene of island with trees and small hut, two birds flying above it, bank to the right with rocks and trees. Border of two parallel blue lines running round inside rim. Domed lid with flattened sloping edge rising to high point in centre with moulded flower and leaves finial. Printed round one side of lid with same fence scene and long stems of flowers reaching round other side of lid. Border of two parallel lines round rim. Pattern : fence.
