Summary

Public: Mug, soft paste porcelain, reeded loop handle, transfer-printed overglaze in black with half-length portrait, military trophy and winged trumpeting figure. Private: Mug, cylindrical body, slightly spread foot and everted rim, reeded loop handle. Transfer-printed overglaze, exterior, black. King of Prussia depicts half-length portrait of Frederick the Great in armour, ermine lined cloak. He points to left, facing outwards. Beneath, scroll with inscription, 1757 KING of PRUSSIA. Above left small putti with laurel wreath. Military trophy includes three flags giving the names of Frederick's victories; Reisburg / Prague / Collin; Welham / Rofsbach / Breslaw; Neumark / Lifsa / Breslaw. Centre, scroll cartouche. Bottom left, inscription RH. Worcester and anchor rebus. Fame no 1 shows winged figure, flowing robes, facing right, blowing trumpet.
