Summary

Public: Mug, soft paste porcelain, double ribbed high loop handle, transfer-printed overglaze in black with half-length portrait of the King of Prussia, military trophy and winged figure. Private: Mug, inverted bell shape, tapered foot, everted rim, double ribbed high loop handle. Transfer-printed overglaze, black, with scenes relating to Seven Years War (1756-1763). King of Prussia shows half length portrait of Frederick the Great wearing armour and fur trimmed cloak, he points to left, head facing outwards, hair in fashion of time. Beneath scroll at chest height 1757 and KING of PRUSSIA. Left, military trophy shows arms and three flags indicating various battles; Reisburg, Prague, Collin / Welham, Rofsbach, Breslaw / Neumark, Lifsa, Breslaw. Central cartouche trumpeting figure. Bottom left anchor rebus and RH Worcester. Bottom right trumpet with pennant shows evidence of print being cut to fit small mug, edge of protruding wand visible. Left, Fame shows winged figure with flowing dress blowing two trumpets, facing right.
