Summary

Public: Coffee cup, soft paste porcelain, reeded loop handle, transfer-printed and enamelled overglaze in black, with Oriental scenes and diaper and foliage rim. Private: Coffee cup, straight sided, rising from slightly tapered footring, reeded loop handle. Transfer-printed overglaze with two scenes, one depicts The Siesta, two Chinamen reclining on platform beneath canopy hanging from four poles topped with tassles, set in garden, part of stonework arch supports arm of front Chinaman. Le Chalet shows Chinaman climbing steps to exotic fenced and roofed platform, supported by four convex columns. Flags fly and an object (possibly) with halo beneath roof on shelf. To right rocks, left tree stump, landscape. Outer rim enamelled overglaze with diaper and foliage border. Outside of handle enamelled overglaze foliage.
