Summary
Public: Part of tea service, including slop bowl, bread and butter plate, one tea cup, three coffee cups and three saucers, soft paste porcelain, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, iron red, green, blue enamels and gilt in imitation Japanese 'Imari' pattern. Private: Circular slop bowl tapering to curved base, with high tapering footring. Main body divided into four vertical panels by four narrower underglaze blue panels, over-painted with gilt, circular reserves half way down, filled with flowers in red, green and gilt. White panels filled alternately with large stylised chrysanthemums in red and gilt, and prunus stems in blue, with green leaves and background. Horizontal band of flowers reserved on underglaze blue ground with gilt edges round bottom of body. Bread and butter plate with curved sloping sides and footring. Upper surface decorated with same pattern of alternating blue and white panels, radiating out from central circular panel surrounded by floral blue and white border edged in gilt. Central panel painted with sprigs of flowers in red, green, blue and gilt. Rim edged in gilt. Three narrow coffee cups, each with straight sides, curved base, footring and ribbed loop handle. Same pattern of blue and white panels with chrysanthemums and prunus in enamels and gilt. Single flower and leaves in well of cup, gilt edging to rim and red motif on back of handle. Three deep saucers, each with steep sloping sides and same pattern radiating out from central circular panel, white with sprigs of chrysanthemums in red, blue, green and gilt. Gilt rim. Single tea cup, wider and shallower than coffee cup with ear shaped loop handle picked out in red and same pattern on body.
