Private: Teapot, elongated globular body, fat reeded loop handle, octagonal spout, flower and leaf knop, low dome rimmed lid with pierced hole. Transfer-printed overglaze, black, birdlife and countryside. Pigeons and Broken Fence depicts in centre two birds, standing, facing each other. Bird to right with puffed chest, courting other bird. Left, behind, short broken fence, tree to rear. Distant right tree. Birds, distant and foreground, flying. Rural landscape, foreground mass of foliage. Pigeons and Tree shows central tree flanked by two pigeons, bodies facing away, heads turned towards each other, to form heart-shaped stance. Left, broken tree. Right, tree and shrubbery. Birds, distant and forground, flying. Enamelled overglaze black band rim. Enamelled overglaze black interlaced geometric design handle and, repeated twice, on spout. Lid transfer-printed overglaze, black, three flying birds, enamelled overglaze black band rim.
