Tea Party no 1 shows elegantly dressed man and woman seated on bench, facing right, drinking tea, laden pedestal table in front, dog beside woman. Right of bench black page pours water from kettle into teapot. Distant right, urn on plinth, gushing fountain behind. Tree behind bench, mass of foliage foreground. The Singing Lesson shows man and woman seated on bank to right of classical ruins, she, right, sings from book, he plays flute. Tree to right, distant birds in sky, garden landscape. Enamelled overglaze brick-red spear and dot border outer rim, interlaced geometric pattern on handle, scroll and dot pattern footring.
